What Is EDEN?

The Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) is a national collaborative network of Extension professionals from across the United States who share disaster-related resources and expertise.

EDEN focuses on:

  • Natural disasters (floods, winter storms, drought, tornadoes, wildfire)
  • Animal and livestock emergencies
  • Farm and ranch recovery
  • Crisis communication
  • Community resilience and continuity planning

About Tennessee EDEN

Tennessee EDEN (Extension Disaster Education Network) is an active member of the national EDEN network. The mission of TN EDEN is to connect Extension professionals, state agencies, and community partners to strengthen disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience across Tennessee’s agricultural communities.

As part of the national EDEN network, TN EDEN provides:

  • Research-based disaster preparedness resources relevant to Tennessean’s
  • Rapid communication tools during emergencies
  • Recovery guidance for producers and rural communities
  • Training and professional development for Extension professionals
  • Coordination support with state and federal partners

Become a Tennessee EDEN Delegate

Extension agents and specialists interested in strengthening disaster capacity are encouraged to become Tennessee EDEN delegates.

Delegates:

  • Receive national EDEN updates and training opportunities
  • Participate in disaster education planning
  • Help share timely, research-based information during disasters
  • Contribute to statewide preparedness initiatives
